Japan

This is a painting I did from a sketch. I did this after watching footage of the tsunami as it went over a break wall in one of Japan’s cities, after the earthquake. The water/waves reminded me so much of the art in Miyazaki films. I drew quite a few pieces with this concept. This one was my favorite so I decided to finish as a painting. I usually don’t draw sad things, but my heart is so heavy with grief and sorrow for the Japanese people.
