Sketch Sunday 6

Watercolor pencil, ink, graphite

This week’s sketch is a dragonfly that landed outside our window. One of my favorite things, dragonflies are so inspirational! A good reminder to live in the moment.

Have a good week! Thanks for visiting!

Sketch Sunday 4

This Sunday Sketch was actually done on Saturday in honor of my favorite Beatles’ 78th Birthday!

Ringo means so much to me. He is always positive and funny – A true inspiration! I can’t wait to see him in CT this September!

Thank you for stopping by, Peace & Love!

Sketch Sunday 3

For this week’s Sketch Sunday, I decided to show you how I start the process for one of my Flower Series paintings.

After compiling photos, I sketch different flowers for the composition and add watercolor pencil and ink.

It helps me to imagine the composition, plus getting the complimentary colors down. Just because the flowers come from the same area, doesn’t mean they go well within a composition. Much like flower arranging!

Thank you to my sister for allowing me to use her photos of wildflowers in Alaska for my sketch today.

Have a nice week, and thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Sunday 2

This week’s sketch is a small colored pencil sketch. This sketch is inspired by a memory of mine of my youngest brother and me entertaining our grandfather.

Thank you for visiting my blog, have a nice week!

Sketch Sunday 1

I am going to try to post a sketch every Sunday, just to keep myself on track. I sketch or paint almost every day, but find posting to be challenging. So here it goes. Week 1 Sketch Sunday.  A wicked looking flower in a cutesy pot with a chubby little bee buzzing around. 🙂

Happy Sunday! It is a beautiful day here in Western MA. I hope it is nice where you are too. Get out and enjoy! LE

I was invited to put a piece of my artwork in the UMass Amherst Staff initiative, Building Bridges Worker Exhibition. It was the first time I had an original painting in an official exhibition. I also exhibited five digital images:

I was very happy to see such a large amount of interest in the exhibition. I received a lot of positive feedback about my art, and more importantly, about the exhibition and Building Bridges.

Many thanks to everyone who took the time out of their day to come see my art and to those family and friends who helped me choose the pieces – you know who you are! 😀
